CRYSTAL JERABEK, M.ED., CLC

Life & Career Planner

Crystal Jerabek, M.Ed., CLC is a California credentialed secondary teacher, certified life-coach (CLC), MBTI (Myers Briggs) & SII (Strong Interest) personality/career testing certified and is an expert in working with teens and young adults, and millennial leaders. After 15+ years of teaching high school and junior college, Crystal decided to make a career change from the school setting to focus on her passion for coaching and working one on one with clients. Her years of experience with coaching educators and students coupled with her additional trainings and life experiences makes for the perfect combination in her role as coach and advisor with her clients/families.

Crystal has a passion for working with  young adults and their families to focus on a solution-based action plan that is individualized to personality types and is strengths-based and forward-focused. She enjoys serving as a partner alongside clients as they explore and develop their personal and professional goals. In the work together with the coach, the client will increase his/her knowledge of their innate strengths, personality type and impact on career choices, explore areas of interest and paths that are congruent with their core values (which client/coach will also map out) and then implement an action step plan to accomplish their goals. She offers individualized coaching sessions and workshops and while her specialty is in the under 30 group, she enjoys working with all ages that are experiencing a transition in their life and want to investigate new paths, career shifts, return to the workplace after raising kids, etc.

Crystal is an expert in motivating and empowering her clients, especially those that are “stuck” and having difficulty making decisions about jobs/careers/next steps, 20-somethings that are struggling with “launching” into adulthood, etc. With a deep understanding of the common frustrations, fears, expectations and skills needed by teens/young adults to successfully navigate and thrive in the next chapter of adulthood, Crystal helps clients focus on a one-step-at-a-time process while creating long-term goals that are developed in partnership.

Crystal earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication at California State University, Fullerton and her Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction at Concordia University, Irvine. In addition, she has additional training in teacher leadership, instructional coaching, curriculum design/development, and AVID.

In the area of English/ELA, she has taught grades 9-12 college prep and Honors English and AP Language & Composition. In addition, she has a background in Theatre and has taught all levels of Drama and Theatre Arts Production as well as directing several productions at the high school and college level. Beyond her Masters degree, Crystal has completed hours of extensive advanced training in coaching and personality/career testing to further her education on the complexities of integrating career choice with life happiness across the stages of adulthood.

As an educational leader, she has coached thousands of teachers, built life-long student connections, and developed then led a variety of college and career programs.

When she is not working with clients and families at our office, Crystal enjoys spending time with her family and she lives in Laguna Beach with her husband and daughter. She also enjoys traveling, yoga, reading in her free time. Her positive outlook on life, innate ability to motivate and empower her clients and her empathetic and caring spirit are a wonderful addition to Laguna Family Health Center and we are grateful to have her on our team.
